Gliding by to say hi! - MMM Challenge # 69 In The Garden

This card has an inlaid die cutting technique using circles which I discovered on Pinterest recently and wanted to give it a try.  I like the effect and the card is also flat for posting.  The current challenge theme over at Make My Monday is In the Garden so my garden mouse buggy riding a snail is perfect with dancing butterflies joining in.  As snails glide along I used an apt sentiment ‘Gliding by to say hi!’

Into the patterned paper I die cut the top circle first then a second overlapping circle below to create an aperture.  After stamping the mouse/snail and butterflies on textured linen cardstock I die cut them in exactly the same way and inlaid them back into the aperture.  I've kept to a muted colour palette with my stamped images to tone in with the patterned paper.

I've used - 5x5 scalloped edge top fold card base
Patterned paper from a magazine
Penny Black stamps from a critter party set
Promarkers - Cool Aqua, Tea Green, Blush
Unbranded stitched circle die
Mag sentiment stamp
Unbranded stitched scallop edge die
